Therapy Assisting in Occupational Therapy

Therapy assistants work under the supervision and guidance of occupational therapists to support the delivery of therapy programs. They help implement individualised treatment plans designed to enhance a child’s participation, independence, and daily living skills. This may include supporting activities to develop fine motor skills, sensory regulation, play, or self-care routines. Therapy assistants play an important role in reinforcing therapeutic goals, monitoring progress, and ensuring continuity of care within the broader allied health team.
